  4. just got back from the dark knight rises

    and i can happily say i made it out alive and got to watch my 2 of my trifectas in one movie. 

    IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE ANY SPOILERS STOP READING

    first things first, i think it is fair to say that the presence of heath ledger as the joker was sorley missed. no one will ever be able to make a villian as charismatic and enjoyable as he did…however, anne hathaway was a pleasure to watch on screen and one day i hope i have a figure like that and the ability to wear a sexy cat outfit.


    the rumors about tom hardy’s voice being slightly inaudible are true. this was kind of a pain in the ass, but he played bane well. i find the character of bane to be dry and removed, so he wasn’t necessarily my favorite thing to watch. 

    ON THE OTHER HAND…JOSEPH GORDON LEVITT WAS AMAZING. like dear god, can he please just have my children. i am SOOOOOO excited for what was made out to be possibly a new installment with the presh jgl playing the robin to christian bale’s batman.


    i absolutely LOVED the twist with marion cottilard, did not see that one coming AT ALL.

    also the fact that a large majority of this film was shot in pittsburgh and on point park’s campus just is making me even more excited for college. 


    i die. 

    in all, go see the dark knight rises.

  6. the college anxiety begins.

    so ultimately i am super stressed out waiting for my financial aid package from smu, but in the meantime, i have written a pro/cons list for my 2 college choices - smu and point park.  ultimately my main thing is that at smu yes though i will have an amazing time and make a bunch of friends, party my ass off, etc i am nervous that i will become unfocused and forget my true goal - dance. ultimately i want to be signed into a company my graduation.  however at point park though i know i will be artistically pushed and grow a lot as an artisit, i do not mold well with the student body and i hate pittsburgh. i also hate the lack of school spirit at that insitution. here it goes.

    SMU 

    pros

    - DALLAS (i am so in love with this city, it is insane)

    - small classes and the elitist community

    - beautiful, STRAIGHT men (we all know the pickings are slim at point park, lets be honest)

    - smu has the campus spirit i’ve been looking for my whole life. PONY UP.

    - meadows is an amazing community, theres like 12 people in a dance class. and the small size of the dance department will definitely allow me to get cast in their shows.

    - warm weather (i hate snow and pittsburgh has a lot of it. cold weather kills my ankle)

    - momma/poppa mathia and max. its nice to know i would have a home away from home

    - having a 2nd major from smu will allow for job opps in the future

    - travel abroad is crazy good at smu 

    - lots of funding for summer intensives 

    - 3 hours from mel mel 

    - close to la and the commercial dance scene 

    - kiehls is opening a new store in north park 

    - dallas black dance theatre 


    cons 


    - i will have to take pointe my first year at smu. which i have sworn off. 

    - i will be far from home and the east coast 

    - teresa will not be as willing to pay for dance related things if she is paying for flights back and forth to dallas

    - i could get a little distracted with the greek life scene 

    -  the amazing food and large portions everywhere in dallas could lead to me gaining weight. which cannot happen. 

    - i had more challenging ballet classes at ppu for summer. a lot of stuff at meadows i have been doing with pat all this year. 

    - dallas is not close to new york. 

    - a demanding 2nd major may lead to me becoming unfocused 

    POINT PARK 


    pros 

    - small classes 

    - pittsburgh is very close to paige and new york 

    - i’d be able to see teresa more often and cheaply 

    - KIESHA LALAMA 

    - being around such talented dancers would push me to become better and grow artistically. 

    - NO POINTE 

    - the opportunity to take musical theatre classes could open up a 2nd avenue 

    - good financial aid package 

    - double majoring would be easier at point park 



    cons 


    - lack of school spirit sucks balls 

    - I HATE PITTSBURGH 

    - i did not mesh well with the student body or any of the dancers from summer dance that well. i mean other than cloe and latrea but they are perfect people. everyone else ehhh…

    - i want to get away from the conservatory feel 

    - cold ass pittsburgh weather is not my cup of tea and will severley affect my mood 

    - it is extremely hard to get cast in pieces at point park, thats a whole other drama in itself. 

    - point park is very reminiscent of capa

    - pittsburgh just really does suck


  7. hunt’s weekend.

    is possibly the most precious thing in the world and it makes me want to go to smu even moreeeee now. 

    i’ve been surrounded by the most amazing people and had such great opportunities. i even made some great friends that i know i will be bonded too if i end up coming here. aka GARNER.

    seriously we were like 2 peas in a pod, attached at the hip. it was preshnperf. 

    i saw some dance classes at the meadows and i was super impressed. 

    however joy was right about casting in college, and performances in general. getting into there pieces is super difficult. i really will need to be on my a game. 

    being the type a perfectionist that i am, i know my interview could have gone better, but i think i charmed them and they loved my personality. 

    also if i go here, i want to live in peyton because it is kinda like the best hall EVER. 

    on a side note…. i probably gained like 20 pounds from being here this weekend because they feed you the most delicious food in the world aka mustang bread. 

    LET THE WEEKS WAIT BEGIN FOR THIS DAMN PHONE CALL. 

  8. DALLAS BOUND IN 10 HOURS

    and i couldn’t be any more excited. 

    according to the weather, shits been cray. thunder storms. tornado warnings.

    however i find it ironic that the day after i arrive it goes back to being 75 degrees.

    i think the city misses me. 

  9. when i go to smu next week

    i want to find out about frat/sororities as well as some extra things with the dance department. aka what if you don’t do pointe, or do not want to take it….

    can you just take an alternative ballet class?

    also what is casting like?

    is it super competitive? 

    what choreographers are they bringing in next year…..

    also i want to know about class size, because i know lasts years class was huge….

     i am sad i don’t get to stay the weekend though, because if i did, i could do destination smu….WAHHHHH.
